The FDA didn’t want you to read this!

How would you feel if you found out the FDA knew there's Roundup weedkiller in our food, but was doing NOTHING about it?

As I sit here this morning, I feel livid.

Given that glyphosate (the active ingredient in Monsanto's Roundup) is currently the subject of massive litigation in regards to hundreds of cases of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and that the World Health Organization's cancer agency has declared glyphosate a probable carcinogen… we deserve to know if this is in our food.

Yet the very people who have been put in charge of ensuring food safety in this country are turning a blind eye and hiding the truth from the public.

In an appalling FDA internal email obtained by U.S. Right To Know, it has become apparent that the FDA is fully aware of how rampant Roundup is in our food. In the email from last year, FDA chemist Richard Thompson admits that the crackers and granola cereal he tested from his house had a "fair amount" of the weed killer in them.

How much is a "fair amount"? Are you comfortable eating a "fair amount" of weed killer for breakfast? I'm know I'm not.

This is not an isolated incident. This follows previous FDA testing which found glyphosate in all U.S. honey samples tested. The researcher commented it was "difficult to find" honey that wasn't tainted. Even worse, some samples had double the limit allowed in Europe (who has stricter regulations).

Other tests by private groups have found glyphosate in cereal, meat, drinking water, breast milk, infant formula, chips, cookies, air samples… the list goes on.

Where is the press release from the FDA? Why are they being silent?

It's inexcusable that this problem has gotten so out of hand and that Monsanto is continuing to get away with poisoning us and our planet. We are literally eating this controversial weedkiller every day… This is maddening.

How to protect yourself and your family…

While some organic foods are tainted, the best option is to buy certified organic foods because glyphosate is prohibited on organic crops. Take it one step further and look for products with the Glyphosate Residue Free seal or Glyphosate in Transition (where companies have committed to keep Glyphosate levels as low as possible).

I know you want this controversial chemical out of our food as much as I do. There are two big ways you can take action:

  1. Vote with your dollars. When you choose to buy certified organic and Glyphosate Residue Free foods, you are casting a vote for which products should be in stores. This is the fastest way to change the food system.
  2. Spread the word to your friends and family. The more people who know about the risky chemicals in our food, the easier it will be for us to band together and create change. Forward this email to everyone you know and ask them to subscribe here.

Despite the FDA failing us at every turn, we we are winning the battle...

Last month, a California court affirmed that glyphosate can be listed as a known carcinogen under Prop 65. Since California has strict laws on companies selling products that may expose consumers to carcinogens, they will now require that all glyphosate products carry a warning label in the state. This is a huge win for public health and will help raise awareness about the dangers of this risky chemical.

Please share this email and stay tuned…
