Tell Kellogg’s to stop poisoning our kids

I've been working to make a change to Kellogg's cereals for nearly 10 years.

I launched my 2nd petition to Kellogg's in 2019, asking them to keep their promise to dump the artificial dyes and BHT from their cereals. 

The Food Babe Army went wild sharing this petition and as I was getting ready to book a flight to take these signed petitions to Kellogg's headquarters in Michigan, the unexpected happened. The world came to a screeching halt when Covid hit, and this put a big wrench in our plans. 

To this day, Kellogg's continues selling Americans cereals full of artificial ingredients they don't use in other countries, even after promising that they would remove them.

And these cereals target our kids. It's so unethical! 

As I shared in my email to you last week, my friend and activist Jason Karp hired one of the top lawyers in the country, Alex Spiro, and sent a letter to Kellogg's demanding that they sell Americans the same cereals they sell in other countries without artificial dyes and BHT.

They ask for a meeting with Kellogg's Board of Directors to discuss the timeline and state that they "will not hesitate to hold Kellogg's leadership accountable".

This news is getting shared in the media, with articles in the The New York Times and New York Post. 

I love seeing this information back in the news. People should know about this and demand better. Kellogg's should not be able to get away with this.

But it sure is interesting to see how the FDA defends artificial dyes when you're challenging a powerful corporation like Kellogg's.

They tell the media that these dyes are "safe to consume" and there's "no causal link" to behavioral effects in children. 

They are lying to our faces while protecting billion dollar food corporations.

Two cancer-causing ingredients in your food

I have been wondering if this was going to happen for a long time.

Finally, the harm that processed foods cause is getting the attention it deserves.

Every morning I wake up and get notified about yet ANOTHER new study finding that the ingredients in processed food are causing cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and early death. 

The latest one is so important…

Especially if you buy coffee creamers, ready-to-drink protein shakes, peanut butter, or ice cream.

A new study published in the journal PLoS Medicine involving 92,000 adults in France found that common emulsifiers found in these products can increase the risk of cancer up to 46%.

Specifically they found that people who often eat products with mono and diglycerides had a 24% higher risk of developing breast cancer and a 46% higher risk of prostate cancer. 

They also found a 32% higher risk of breast cancer in women who often eat products with Carrageenan.

These two ingredients are used in thousands of processed foods as emulsifiers to keep food blended together, to improve texture, and preserve them longer on the shelf. 

They are not necessary, but used by food manufacturers to cut costs and use less real food.

Check your products for "Carrageenan" or "Mono and Diglycerides" on the ingredient label. 

This is why we don't use emulsifiers and gums in Truvani products. We believe in real food without added chemicals, products without toxins and labels without lies.

To all my haters

This email is dedicated to all the "experts" who criticized my work. 

To the people who called me a "Food Bimbo", a "Fearmonger", and a "Quack". 

And to the dietitians who think drinking Diet Coke and feeding your kids Kellogg's Froot Loops is totally fine.

They are wrong.

My warnings have now become undeniable. 

The world's largest scientific review of its kind was published in the BMJ this week (involving almost 10 million people).

It found that diets high in ultra-processed food are directly linked to 32 harmful effects to health.

This includes a higher risk of heart disease, cancer, type 2 diabetes, adverse mental health and early death.

The researchers said ultra-processed food has "little if any whole food added, made palatable and attractive by using combinations of flavours, colours, emulsifiers, thickeners, and other additives."

"No reason exists to believe that humans can fully adapt to these products."

Our bodies were not designed to consume Little Debbie Honey Buns, Kellogg's Apple Jacks, Doritos, Gatorade, Chick-fil-A sandwiches, and Pepsi.

When I used to eat food like that I was on several prescription drugs, and felt and looked awful! 

I don't want anyone else to feel the way I did. 

This is why I won't stop sharing the truth about our food and the companies who are profiting from selling us poisons. 

These companies use the cheapest ingredients possible, they lie to the media, and they are laughing all the way to the bank.

Kellogg's CEO recently said that people struggling economically should consider "cereal for dinner" to save money. 

This is wrong on so many levels. 

Kellogg's cereals are some of the most processed foods on the planet, literally full of ingredients that shorten our lives…

And they suggest we eat them because it's CHEAP!

Kellogg's lied to the media when they committed to removing artificial colors from their cereals in 2015.

It's been almost TEN YEARS and they continue to sell harmful chemicals that wreck children's brains - and they know it.
