Before next week - read this

While you're preparing for Thanksgiving next week, I have a couple of important things to share.

Food Babe Kitchen is back in stock on Amazon and it's only $20.

I'm not sure how long this price will last and it looks like it will run out of stock again before the holidays.

If you want to get this cookbook in time for Christmas, now is the time to order. It makes an amazing gift for your loved ones too!

Now, before next week...

It's important to remember that conscious eating is a LIFESTYLE. That means that whether it's a holiday or not, you're remaining conscious about what you're putting into your body.

In my new Healthy Holiday Guide (which you get for FREE when you order Food Babe Kitchen) I give you two full pages of tips to help you do just that. For example, here are a few tips you can implement now…

  • Start the Day Off Right: Try to do something active to jump-start your metabolism. Pop in a workout video or enjoy a long walk with a family member.
  • Drink Your Greens: To set yourself up for success, have frozen and cut vegetables and fruits readily available so you are prepared to start your day off with a healthy and energizing drink. This will keep you full and get some serious nutrition into your body.
  • Limit Your Alcohol Intake: Because you'll already be consuming more than usual with your meal, it's important not to go overboard with alcoholic beverages. Doing so will cause you to feel inflamed and bloated the next day. Alcohol will be digested by the liver first (your main fat burning organ) - so you don't want to overtax it.
  • Sip Dandelion Tea: This herbal liquid is great for detoxifying the body and cleansing the liver after a large or salty meal. I mix dandelion tea, lemon juice and cranberry juice and call it "Tighten It Up Tea" - it will keep you from carrying extra water weight.
  • Eat Unprocessed Foods: One of the biggest causes of weight gain and disease in America is that we have outsourced our food to the food industry and restaurants. We need to take back control. At the table - choose foods as close to Mother Nature as possible - crudités, salads, lean fish, nuts, etc. - skip the dishes that likely came from a can or box. If you have the option, always check the ingredient list.

Above all else...look at the big picture.

If you have a goal to get in shape in the new year, start right now. You don't have to wait until January 1st to start implementing smart eating habits. Think about what you want to accomplish in the long run.
