When I travel, I love packing this…

When I used to travel a lot for work, I'd always pack my own food to bring with me...

While others ate junky fast food and hotel buffets (loaded with preservatives, additives, sugar, etc), I ate healthy. And it was super rewarding.

Especially when it came to breakfast. I don't like starting my day with a sugary processed breakfast. It puts me into a food coma. I need something full of nutrients to keep me focused and ready for the day.

Here's exactly what I packed...

It's a breakfast travel pack. It's rich in fiber, and of course, it contains Plant Based Protein Powder.

I filmed a video showing you how I make them.

Vani

P.S. If you like this recipe I shared today, you should also check out our new Plant Based Protein Powder. We are currently offering "Launch Special Pricing." And it's only available for a limited time. Get the deal here.

What does it taste like? I have the answer!

So, I just released our new Plant Based Protein Powder, and the #1 question people had was...

"What does it taste like?"

And I can relate.

I've been burned by bad protein powder…

Some plant based protein powders taste wayyy too sweet. Others taste too chalky. And some leave a horrible after taste.

And worse, when you look at the ingredient labels of some of these proteins you'll spot something like "Chocolate Natural Flavor," or "Stevia Extract" or "Organic Natural Flavors."

It's all so frustrating…

This is one of the reasons why I knew I had to create my own protein powder. And I'm a realist. I only wanted to use the best ingredients, but I also wanted it to taste great, too.

And I know we pulled it off.

Seriously. It tastes so good that you can add it into a delicious recipe - we share 5 on this page - or you can drink it with just plain water.

But don't take my word for it. Here are real reviews from people who had the opportunity to taste it:

"The fact that my 2 year old loves it should say everything about this product! He kept asking for "mo." - Corinn T.

"I'd give 2 thumbs up to this chocolate protein powder - all natural, very minimal ingredients, no artificial sweeteners and yet it tasted sweet and delicious. I'd definitely be happy to drink this for breakfast every morning!" - Stefani M.

"I've tried a lot of vegan protein powders and I am very impressed with Truvani protein powder. It taste great, mixes well and the texture is nice. I've had protein powders that tasted chalky before and was pleasantly surprised to find that this one is not chalky or gritty at all." - Melinda A.

I know it tastes great. And that's why we also offer a no questions asked "Love The Taste" Guarantee. Meaning, if you try our Protein Powder, and dislike the taste, just email our team and refund your order. Easy.

I never set out to create my own product line, but I now know that's exactly what I needed to do to force Big Food companies to change.

I'm also a realist. We must ensure we only put the best quality ingredients into our bodies, but it should feel great doing it. And that's why taste is so important.

So, try our Plant Based Protein Powder. This week we are offering a "launch special" where you can save about 25% when you get one bag auto shipped to you each month.

And there's a no hassle "Love The Taste" guarantee.

Vani

The dirty ingredient revealed (plus our new product is here)

So, last week I shared that I found a "dirty" ingredient…

An ingredient that was personally giving me a tremendous headache to source at my company Truvani.

The worst part?

This ingredient was important. It's one of the MAIN ingredients in Truvani's newest product (which I am also announcing today).

It was so strange, too. It was a common ingredient found in similar products. But none of the suppliers I reached out to lived up to the Truvani Standard.

The biggest problem?

Lead contamination.

So, I did something crazy. I independently tested similar products. Specifically products without a warning label.

You see, when a product is contaminated by heavy metals, you are required to include a warning label in California. So, I wanted to test products that were supposedly "clean."

And that's when I discovered that one popular brand had no warning label on their product… but STILL TESTED 22X HIGHER THAN THE PROP 65 LEAD LIMIT.

I was enraged, but it gave me the energy to keep searching for a clean source for this ingredient. And, after searching the Earth… literally… I found a unique source that made it all possible.

What was the product? And what was the ingredient?

I share everything on this page right here.

Xo,

Vani

P.S. I also share why I started working on this product in the first place. You can hear about that weird, disgusting story, too. All I have to say is that I never set out to create my own product line, but I got sick and tired of playing "whack a mole" with these big companies. The world needs a company that actually cares about the products they create. And even though it means I have to be careful in some ways, it also means I can start hitting these companies where it hurts the most… their bottom line.

Thank you (Check your email on Monday!)

On Tuesday, I asked you to "guess" what our next product could be…

And you had some great guesses.

As I mentioned, our new product will launch on July 16th.

To be the first to hear about it, hop on the waitlist right here:

Get On The Waitlist

Additionally, I'll be sharing two more things:

1. An important investigation into ingredients you'll never want to buy

2. I will be publishing some cool new recipe videos and exciting ways to use our new product. We have never did anything like this at Food Babe before, and I'm excited to share them.

It's all still so surreal to me.

I never set out to create my own product line, but after years of fighting Big Food, I knew I had to do it. And your support over the last few months has given me the energy to push forward.

I can't thank you enough.

This new product was difficult to create - I shared all the details about sourcing issues right here - but now that it's done. It's so worth it.

Come on and hop on the waitlist!

Vani

Some controversy...

Earlier this week, I shared a story about how disgusted I am about ingredient labels that LIE.

To recap...

When a product is contaminated by heavy metals, you are required to include a warning label in California.

So, I found this one product that didn't have a warning label and sent it off for independent testing.

And I was HORRIFIED by the results.

Now, some of you are wondering why I didn't release the results and here's the reason why:

Over the last few years of fighting against big food, I noticed that calling out specific ingredients and specific companies was playing an endless game of "whack a mole." No matter how many times I got a company to change, another company would pop up doing the same exact thing as the other companies. It's crazy.

This is one of the reasons why I was driven to start my own product line. I wanted to create something where people would know that the company did the right thing… from the beginning. So, people would never have to worry about the specific ingredients. With this new mission came additional responsibility. Much of which I'm just as unhappy about as you are. Especially as it relates to specific products I plan to release.

But if this is what I have to do to make the lasting change in the food system, so be it. It's what needs to be done.

I know it's different. For now. But I am working out the kinks, and I assure you that this is what I believe is what the world needs.

On July 16th, I will announce the third Truvani product.

It's vegan. It's non-GMO. It's USDA organic.

And I was testing products similar to the product that we planned to release.

The whole story is a little crazy.

Watch out for these summertime traps!

The other day I ran into the grocery store for a couple of quick items and came across a big 4th of July display full of all the party essentials… crackers, dips, hamburger buns, BBQ sauce, ketchup, baked beans, sweet tea, and even those big sugar cookies painted red, white and blue. Although it can be tempting to load up your cart with this stuff (it's wayyyy too easy), there was one thing I noticed…

Every single product on display was made with High Fructose Corn Syrup (yes, all of them!) This highly sweet, chemically concocted version of corn syrup is arguably the worst sweetener in our food. Not only is HFCS generally made from GMO corn, but one study found that it can be contaminated with toxic mercury. Besides that, these products were full of artificial dyes, preservatives, and other nasty additives.

You might be thinking, "Well, it's just for a holiday… it's just once a year… that's not gonna kill me."

This way of thinking is a trap. You see, it's not really just once a year. We are being sabotaged at every turn with processed chemical additives (HFCS and worse!) and there always seems to be an excuse to have it "just this one time". There are countless birthday parties, backyard cookouts, and the holiday season still to look forward to.

After I started learning about what was really in my food, I made a conscious decision not to eat toxic chemicals in processed food regardless the occasion because I knew they were responsible for making me gain weight and making me want to eat more. This really forced me to learn how to celebrate without getting off my game.

So even though 4th of July is just once a year, don't go down the road of buying processed foods full of health-wrecking additives. Instead, choose to make a few of these fun backyard party recipes that are ALWAYS a hit…

You don't gotta make everything from scratch. Also check this list of the best picks for organic chips and other packaged snacks that won't sabotage your health. It's a party and you've gotta have chips, right?

Stay safe and enjoy the holiday week!
