Nachos recipe! This will surprise you.

44 ingredients banned!

I have some exciting news to share… 

The grocery chain ALDI announced they’re banning 44 processed ingredients from all of their store brand products by the end of 2027. 

And when I saw the list, I was thrilled because the Food Babe Army has been raising the alarm on these additives for years.

This is proof that when we vote with our dollars, food brands and retailers are taking notice. We truly are changing the marketplace every time we shop!

Some of the nasty artificial ingredients they are removing…

BHA: Classified as “possibly carcinogenic to humans.” Shown to cause DNA damage and tumors in animal studies.

BHT: Linked to oxidative stress and DNA damage in lab and animal studies.

TITANIUM DIOXIDE: Shown to cause DNA damage in studies. Banned in food in the EU.

AZODICARBONAMIDE: We successfully petitioned Subway to remove this (banned in Europe and Australia) from their breads in 2014, and most other bread manufacturers in America followed suit. This chemical is linked to cancer because when the Azodicarbonamide is baked, it can form semicarbazide (a carcinogen) and urethane (suspected carcinogen).

ACESULFAME POTASSIUM: Artificial sweetener. Animal studies have reported tumor findings, and lab studies show DNA damage, both considered warning signs for cancer risk.

Growing up, summer cookouts meant white hamburger buns from the grocery store, Heinz ketchup, and a big bowl of Doritos on the picnic table. Nobody thought twice about any of it.

But now all I see is… what's actually in all of it. And what we're really putting in our bodies.

1. The most overlooked source of toxins at your summer cookout is the bun

When I got up to the front of the crowd to speak at The People vs. Poison Rally on Monday, I was so proud of every single one of you standing up with me. We showed the world how powerful we are when we unite together! 

Citizens from across the country, activists, lawyers, doctors, scientists, politicians, and farmers showed up and demanded People over Poison! Corporations poisoning Americans with toxic pesticides do NOT get legal immunity – we will not stand for it.

This rally marks one of the most monumental moments in my entire life. When I think about the world I am leaving my children, this is the fight that keeps me up at night.

I poured my heart out and made sure that every single one of our elected officials knows exactly where I stand and that this is the LINE IN THE SAND.

They will either stand with the corporations who are poisoning us, or with the people they represent.

Right now, the 2026 Farm Bill is headed to the House floor for a vote – and buried inside it are sections that would strip Americans of their right to sue pesticide companies for making them sick. Good News: Your calls are already working. An amendment to remove these immunity provisions made it into the rule – but it still has to pass.
