Toxic Easter Baskets?!

Earlier this week I posted this pic of Cadbury Eggs ingredients on my Instagram:

It's always a shock to see so many controversial man-made ingredients in candy…and this is one reason I was so sick as a child.

I look back at childhood pictures and see myself gripping candy so no one would take it away from me. 

Every holiday I was thrilled because those celebrations ALWAYS revolved around candy.

I sure loved candy when I was younger and I'm sure a lot of children (and adults!) are eating their fair share of candy this week.

Thankfully there are much better candy options available nowadays, and now that I know better I choose to vote with my dollars and support brands who aren't poisoning us with artificial dyes, and crazy chemicals like TBHQ. 

Look for organic candy brands such as Lake Champlain, YumEarth, and Justin's. I've seen some of these brands at Target (and next time you run into Target, make sure you also pick up some Truvani Organic Protein that's now on the shelves!)

Why I almost stopped being a food activist

When I became a mom, I almost stopped being an activist.

For years I used my voice to expose how Big Food manipulates us.

And before I knew it, I became the target of a national smear campaign.

They called me a quack, a fearmonger, and a pseudoscientist. And they threatened me.

All I wanted was to show people how to live a healthier life, but there I was. Getting death threats.

I didn't know whether it would be safe for me and my family to continue the way I was, and I took a back seat for a while.

Then something unexpected happened and it got me back in the game. 

I recently shared the story on The Jordan B. Peterson Podcast.

Thankfully, public opinion has shifted since the early days of Food Babe…

It's no longer considered crazy to question the ingredients in your food.

It's no longer considered pseudoscience to ban chemicals from our food that aren't allowed in other countries.
