After I testified before the U.S. Senate and we took on Kellogg's in the biggest grassroots effort ever against a processed food company…

We inspired a revolution like I've never seen before.

We were covered by nearly every major news outlet (except NBC) in the country, and opened up a nationwide discussion around all of the crazy chemicals that are allowed in American food. 

It's now getting the attention it deserves–and it seems like everyone is asking for something to be done to stop food companies from poisoning us with ingredients they don't use overseas.

We now have several government leaders taking action, and it's gaining momentum at the highest levels in Washington. 

There are dozens of states working on legislation that would ban artificial food dyes and other processed chemicals from schools or from all food sold in their state.

There are also several proposed bills to stop giving billions of tax-payer dollars to Coca-Cola and Pepsi through the SNAP program.

I'm working with several of these states right now on these issues, and helping to create awareness and support for regulations that will protect Americans and our children from the hazardous chemicals in our food. 

No one is paying me to travel to Washington D.C. or various states to speak on these issues. The coordination that my team and I have been doing, countless meetings with legislators and food experts, and creating daily content to spread awareness on social media is all being done for free.

I am testifying for West Virginia and Florida  to give testimony in support of this mission - and many more states on the horizon. 

Food companies everywhere will be forced to reformulate! This will be life-changing for the health of our children. 

I have so many ideas on how to direct action in the right areas, but I need more resources. I can't do this alone.

The first thing I stopped eating when I learned the truth about food

One of the first things I did after my health scare was to stop eating any artificial dyes. 

That one change alone was truly the starting point to regaining my health. 

I'm hoping that you've already banned dyes from your diet too (which is amazing!) 

But, if you haven't…

Let me give you 10 solid reasons to never eat artificial dyes again: 

1. Food companies use artificial dyes to get you to eat MORE of their processed product, which increases their sales (and your waistline). We already have a major obesity problem in this country, and this is just making it worse. 
2. Products with dyes are already insanely processed and universally unhealthy. When you ban dyes from your diet, you automatically avoid much of the heavily processed junk in stores that is horrible for your health.
3. The Southampton Study in 2007 found a strong link between artificial dye consumption in children and increasing hyperactivity. When 3- to 8-year-olds were given test mixtures, they became "significantly more hyperactive".
4. Six artificial dyes require a warning label in Europe that they "may have an adverse effect on activity and attention in children". If other countries deem them a risk, shouldn't we also?
5. In a recent scientific review, 16 out of 25 of studies associated dyes with neurobehavioral issues in children. There are now over 7 million children diagnosed with ADHD in this country. This is a MILLION more children than in 2016. MAYDAY! MAYDAY! We have a problem.
6. The "acceptable levels" of dyes in food are based on 35- to 70-year-old studies, before the effects on children were known. We now know that just 1mg of dye can cause hyperactivity, while one serving of TRIX may contain over 30mg! 
7. A 2015 study found that artificial dyes can disrupt the immune system - making it easier for you and your kids to get sick.
8. Researchers massaged Yellow 5 onto mice, and it turned their skin transparent. Just imagine what these dyes are doing to our insides…WTF
9. Artificial dyes are made from petroleum. This is obviously not food, and many of us have been bamboozled into believing that it's okay to eat cheap artificial substances made from CRUDE OIL…isn't it time we stop believing that?
10. Artificial dyes can be contaminated with cancer-causing substances. With cancer cases going up 1-2% per year in young people, getting carcinogens out of our food should be a top priority.

Getting into politics - I will always be fighting for you.

If you've followed me throughout the years, you know that I'm not one to get into politics. 

I'd much rather target the food industry directly, and the Food Babe Army has been so powerful in getting billion dollar food companies to change. 

We've been able to get controversial ingredients removed from Subway, Kraft, and Starbucks, and we are currently running a thriving campaign to get artificial dyes and BHT out of Kellogg's cereal which is putting pressure on the entire food system. 

But quite frankly, this game of whack-a-mole with ingredients that we've been playing for the last 10 years isn't enough to protect Americans from the unethical and hypocritical practices of these companies.

When we took over 400,000 petition signatures to Kellogg's headquarters telling them we want the same safer ingredients that other countries get…They told us to GET OFF THEIR LAWN.

Moms, dads, and Americans everywhere are standing up to protect the health of our children, and are met with a slap in the face.

Aren't you DONE with being ignored and exploited by these companies?

The only time I get into politics is when I see a real opportunity to make a difference. And right now, the consideration of banning artificial food dyes from ALL American food is on the table, and it's a real possibility in this next administration.

I am currently working with several States that are introducing legislation to ban artificial food dyes, just as California recently did (if you'd like to donate to these efforts, please do so here). 

Poison is not partisan, and if we can put our differences aside and come together, we can reverse what the food industry has done to us. We can finally get the harmful ingredients out of our food that aren't used in the same products overseas. We can finally protect our children and future generations from corporations who are poisoning us for profit. 

I went to Robert F Kennedy Jr.'s confirmation hearing last week in Washington DC, because I want to work from a bi-partisan perspective to change the American food supply. 

At the hearing, he specifically called out the hypocrisy of McDonald's and Kellogg's selling safer versions of their products overseas. I'm in awe that this issue is now a main topic of discussion at the highest levels of government. 

IT'S ABOUT TIME! 

The FDA has failed the American people, and it shouldn't just be citizen activists like ourselves holding these corrupt food companies accountable. We need a voice in Washington, and that is what RFK Jr. represents.

Yesterday, he was successfully confirmed by the Senate Finance Committee and now the vote moves to the Senate floor.

This is an opportunity we've never had before to take on the food system.

RFK Jr. knows the dire situation we're in and understands how the harmful chemicals in our food are destroying our health. He gets it. His track record speaks for itself. 

He was part of the legal team who won a historic $2.2 billion case against Monsanto and Roundup weed killer, a chemical sprayed on our food that is strongly linked to cancer. 

He's gone on the record saying there are "at least 100 chemical poisons that our health agencies allow into our children's food" and he wants to do something to stop it. 

He's also been right about how seed oils are horrible for us, which is something that I talked about on national TV recently. 

Our health is being decimated (as I discussed on national TV here) and we need to do something to stop it. 

RFK Jr. put his own politics aside for the hope of reversing the chronic disease epidemic. We have an opportunity to get someone at the table who is intellectually honest about our food system, and who wants to implement policies that protect our kids.

As a mother I've dedicated my life to advocating for the removal of harmful ingredients from food that's marketed directly to my kids. 

No matter what happens in DC, I'll continue to work for all children, and for all humans.

I'll put all of my political opinions aside for that, working with the leaders who are willing to get this done.
