2 weeks ago, I had a rockstar day speaking at Spanx headquarters in Atlanta. The energy of the day and event was so surreal and it started off with a bang.
I first met the inspirational warrior CEO Sara Blakely holding a… dun dun dun… McDonald's cup!
You'd think I would have been offended, but no, I was not. This is exactly why I do this work.
If my research about the food industry can inspire Sara and others to think about *possibly* changing their food choices or consider other alternatives (like the one I brought for her to try instead of the usual Cheez-Its she eats before flights…) I've accomplished my goal.
Besides... Getting caught red handed, opened the conversation up about what alternatives there are for a mid-morning or afternoon pick-me-up - I immediately suggested KOMBUCHA instead of the Diet Coke in her cup.
After my talk, Sara came up to me to tell me she takes her food seriously, and she's been looking into what's been happening in the food industry for a long time. She's cares, which I love so so much - because this is how we change the world!
I am so grateful for Sara and her husband Jesse Itzler for hosting such a beautiful day. Jesse has so much passion for changing the food industry too. I absolutely loved meeting so many Spanx employees and hearing their stories about food while I signed their books… They all got a copy of my new book Feeding You Lies.
And the icing on the cake? They sent me home with all the Spanx goodies - loving my new camo leggings!

P.S. And if you're wondering what I gave Sara to try instead of Cheez-its, I gave her a box of Annie's Organic version. These may not be perfect, but they are better for you without the TBHQ, conventional flour, and soybean oil. It's all about making better choices and small changes toward a healthier life.
